An Act of Kindness Done Half As Well

I'd pay my brother's rent but, hey, I've already paid!
Go pick up the form from the office, get the section eight.
They say you don't qualify?
Then clearly you don't need it!

You're starving waiting for your return?
Why? You're over the poverty line, the experts say!
How could you have need? Clearly you're just a lazy
Bum so get away from me.

I pay my taxes and do my share; I care!
(Even if I get it all back at the end of the year)
Why do you throw those looks my way?
If you're in need, the office is that way.
A small stack of forms and they'll readily pay,
If your need is a need,
Of course. They've already denied
You? Your house is too large?
Then sell it, or at least the car in your garage!

Now you're unemployed; fired after selling your car?
Well at least you get what you need, my brother,
So rejoice! Be happy! You're free
From employment and from need,
You even get your $800 a month tax free!
