Cylinder

Cylinder, Friendly Cylinder,
Once you would reach out and save
me from these pits of despair but now
what do you do but sit there, mocking, and asking
"oh, did you want me to do something?"

Cylinder, Abusive Cylinder,
endlessly possessive. Would you give
some small comforts in exchange
for your endless demands for company? You punish me
when I leave you to pursue some other
interest, yet time spent with you does nothing but deepen ennui.

Cylinder, Damned Cylinder,
just stop glaring
with those bedroom eyes. You know I'll be in
I can't stay away
but just some time apart
without your nagging would be the greatest
gift you could give.

Cylinder, Cruel Cylinder,
you've made your intent clear
to posses and
to hold me until the day you
destroy me.
